- 英語における綴りと発音が乖離するため、naïveの綴りが使われることも多い。
- 日本語の「ナイーブ(ナイーヴ)」にある「純真な」「繊細な」等の意は、語義2に由来するものだが例外的な用法であり、人に向かって、"You're naive"等と使用すると、語義1の意となり侮蔑の表現となるので注意。
