The definition doesnt fit the translation. To me it sounds more like dissatisfaction. Is it possible that there is a second meaning though that is complaint? Kampy 2010年4月8日 (木) 10:54 (UTC)[返信]

It is very difficult, but I think (or feel) that "complaint" fits the translation of "不平" more than "dissatisfaction", becuase "不平" means to tell or to have a will to tell that anyone is dissatisfied. On the other hand, "不満" only means the status of having dissatisfaction, so "dissatisfaction" fits the translation of "不満", however which is only my opinion.--Mtodo 2010年4月8日 (木) 20:32 (UTC) [返信]
'complaint' might be the right translation possibly. All Im saying is that the definition doesnt fit the translation. The definition might be wrong or too vague or - what I believe - maybe one of two definitions (one meaning "complaint" and the other "dissatisfaction" but I dont know).
  • "不満。満足できないで心が平らでない様。" would be dissatisfaction. a state of bad feeling and not being able to be satisfied. which is not the description of "complaint". Kampy 2010年4月8日 (木) 21:05 (UTC)[返信]
Oh! You say about Japanese definition. Sure, "不平" is one of synonyms of "不満", but is not the paraphrase of it. And, as you say, this definition is of "不満" rather than of "不平". OK, in the near future I will improve it. Thank you.--Mtodo 2010年4月9日 (金) 01:49 (UTC)[返信]
I looked it up on wadoku jiten and it said:
不平; ふへい
[1] Unzufriedenheit; Missmut. [2] Beschwerden; Klage; Nörgelei.
(dissatisfaction) (complaint)
  • maybe there are 2 meanings or it's a common mistake of translation.
P.S. My Langenscheidt dictionary (ger) says "fuhei = dissatisfaction" and "fuhei wo iu = complain". My SHARP denshijiten (eng) says "fuhei = complaint" Kampy 2010年4月9日 (金) 10:59 (UTC)[返信]
