  1. Either of two different trees, usually found around the tropics.
    1. Alectryon macrococcus, a tree in the soapberry family, endemic to Hawaii.
    2. Any tree of genus Melicytus, in the violet family, known from southeastern Australia and New Zealand, especially Melicytus ramiflorus.
