キクユ語

- 湯川 (1981) によると最初の ũ は長母音である。
- Benson (1964) では声調クラスの分類は「クラス9」で、他に同クラスの2音節語幹語には gĩcũhĩ、njũi、biya などがある。

- 〔リムル方言〕湯川 (1981) では mũũrarũ として mũkiha、magathĩ、gĩcũhĩ、mũnyago、mũrarĩ、mũgogo（複数: mĩgogo）、mũgaa、thamaki、mũberethi、mũthamaki、thabina、mũtokaa、njogoo、mũcakwe、therũ、mũceere、Mũthũngũ、mũthanga、njũi、rĩithori（複数: maithori）、mwegetho、mũcemanio、kĩgokora、mbarathi、kĩroruha、mũtembei、ndagitari などと同じ「高低I型」アクセントの名詞と分類されている[1]。

[編集]Benson (1964) と Leakey (1977) は共に英語で green grass snake という訳を与えているが、一般的にこの名前で知られる Opheodrys vernalis (vernalis)[3] やラフアオヘビ (wp)（O. aestivus）[4] はいずれも北アメリカの固有種である[5][6]。
キクユ人 (wp)が暮らすケニアに固有の種で、英名に green あるいは grass という語を含むものは、以下のようなものが見られる。
- Chamaesaura anguina（英: Cape grass lizard、Cape snake lizard）[7]
- Hapsidophrys lineatus（英: black-lined green snake[8][7]、green tree snake[9]）; ケニア西部のカカメガの森（Kakamega forest）が分布域の東限[8]。アフリカデメヘビ。
- Natriciteres olivacea（英: olive grass snake[10][9]、olive marsh snake[10][7]、common water snake[9]）; オリーブユウダヘビ。
- N. o. olivacea（英: olive marsh-snake）; ケニア西部のバリンゴ湖から西方のエルゲヨ・エスカープメント（Elgeyo Escarpment）、ナンディ地区（Nandi district）とトランス・ンゾイア地区（Trans-Nzoia district）からエルゴン山、カカメガ（Kakamega）、ウィナム湾（Winam Gulf）の湖畔辺りまで分布し、ケニア東部ガルセン・ウィトゥ（Garsen-Witu）地域のタナ川デルタにも生息する[8]。
- Philothamnus battersbyi, syn. P. irregularis battersbyi（英: Battersby's green snake[7]、common green snake、grass snake、green bushsnake、green water-snake）; ケニア西部、中央部、南部に広く分布[8]。バタースビーヤブコノミ。
- Philothamnus carinatus, syn. P. heterodermus carinatus（英: thirteen-scaled green snake、barred green snake、strange-scaled green snake）; 分布域の東限はケニア西部のカカメガの森[8]。
- Philothamnus heterodermus（英: emerald green snake、variable green snake）[7]
- Philothamnus heterolepidotus（英: slender green snake）; ヤラ川（Yala River）上流域に分布[8]。
- Philothamnus hoplogaster（英: green water snake、southeastern green snake）[7]
- Philothamnus irregularis（英: green tree snake[11][12]、irregular green snake[12][7]、northern green bush snake[12][7]、common bush snake[12]）; 体色は緑から淡い緑がかった黄色で、無毒[11]。キタヤブコノミ。
- Philothamnus nitidus loveridgei（英: Cameroons wood snake、green bush snake）; ケニア西部に分布[7]。
- Philothamnus punctatus（英: spotted green snake）[7]; マダラヤブコノミ。
- Philothamnus semivariegatus（英: spotted bush snake、spotted green snake、variegated green snake）[7]
- P. s. semivariegatus（英: spotted bush-snake、spotted wood-snake）海岸の平原全域に沿って、またガラナ川やタナ川に分布。その他、ケニアでは水が永続的に存在する場所であれば、北から東にかけてまばらに分布[8]。
- Psammophis mossambicus（英: olive grass snake、olive whip snake）; 背面はしばしば後部が黄色がかったオリーブ茶色で、それの単色であるか、もしくは端の黒い中背部の鱗による黒い線が見られたり、不規則に散った黒い鱗が首に見られたりする（Broadley 2002）[7]。
- Psammophylax variabilis（英: grey-bellied grass snake、grey-bellied skaapstekker）[7]
- P. v. multisquamis（英: common skaapsteker、striped grass-snake、striped skaapsteker）; ケニア西部、中部および東部の1000メートルを超える草原やアカシア森林地帯に分布[8]。
- Rhamnophis aethiopissa, syn. R. ituriensis（英: large-eyed green treesnake[7]、splendid dagger-tooth tree snake[7]、green tree snake[9]）
