語源[編集]
Hutchins (1909) では Safraan、何らかのElaeodendron属の樹木のキクユ語名として m'Tànga が記録されている[2]。

名詞[編集]
- 何らかのニシキギ科カッシネ属の高木 (wp) (Cassine sp.)[3]。特に、カッシネ・ブキャナニー (Cassine buchananii、シノニム: Elaeodendron buchananii[4][1])[5]。かつては樹皮の粉が傷の消毒に用いられており[5]、近年のニェリ県の報告では根をすり潰したものが傷にあてがわれるとされている[4]。
