Hutchins (1909) では何らかのオーガストノキ属（クリソフィルム属）の種（Chrysophyllum sp.）のキクユ語名として m'Ona が記録されている[1]。

発音(?)[編集]

Benson (1964) では声調クラスの分類は「クラス4」の1音節語幹で、他に同クラスの語には mũthũ などがある。
