ジャドソンは "bitterwood, the Terminalia pentaptera"、つまりシクンシ科モモタマナ属の樹種であるとしている[3]が、そのような学名は Catalogue of Life（2019年12月29日閲覧。）にもキュー植物園系列のサイト Plants of the World online（2019年12月29日閲覧。）にも登録されていない。Pentaptera は現在ではモモタマナ属に移された複数のシクンシ科植物が置かれていた属である[4]。なお、モモタマナ属の樹種を指す語であれば ဖန်ခါး (hpanhka:) というものが存在する。
