中国語で橉木と呼ばれる植物があったが、これに誤って語義1のバラ科植物があてられた[2]。

リンボク【橉木】

  1. 中国南部や日本の南中央部や南部から南西諸島 (wp)にかけてを原産とする[3]バラ科 (wp)スモモ属の常緑高木の一種。学名: Prunus spinulosa[2]。
  2. 1.と同科同属ではあるがユーラシア西部やアフリカ北部といった地域に分布する[4]スピノサスモモ（Prunus spinosa）の誤訳[5][6][7][8]。
