- ミカン科サンショウ属の樹木の一種、Zanthoxylum usambarense(シノニム: Fagara usambarensis[3][4])[1]。樹皮や幹、葉から煎じ薬を作る、あるいは噛むといった方法により、歯痛や風邪などの薬とされてきた[5][6]。
